I ordered these and couldn’t be happier. I only ordered 1 plant but ended up recieving 5 in the pot that were easily seperated and repotted. The few I kept are doing great in our front window and are growing taller and starting to fill out a bit. Perfect gift for anyone who loves coffee and has a bit of a green thumb.
Arabica Coffee Plant – Coffea Arabica •Plants are approximately 6 inches tall •Attractive houseplant or shady patio bush •Easy to grow – fun to watch •Conversation piece This bushy shrub is the true source of 75-80% of the world’s commercial coffee beans. The edible fruits are small fleshy berries that change color from green to yellow to red when ripe. They are conducive to container growing, and can produce fruit in 2-3 years. The plant can tolerate low temperatures, but not frost, and does best with an average temperature between 59 and 75 °F. Commercial cultivars mostly only grow to about 15 feet, and are frequently trimmed as low as 5-6 feet to facilitate harvesting. C. arabica prefers to be grown in light shade. Two to four years after planting, C. arabica produces small, white, highly fragrant flowers. The sweet fragrance resembles the sweet smell of jasmine flowers. Flowers opening on sunny days result in the greatest numbers of berries.
