We love garlic around here and black garlic is no exception. The amazingly sweet and savory flavor is the perfect complement to many dishes and that’s not to mention the health benefits.
Black garlic has been gaining popularity, not just with foodies, but with nutritionists, as well. Normal garlic is taken and heat cured for 30 days and then left to “ferment” for 45 days. The result is garlic with twice the healing properties, making it beneficial for those battling heart disease, infections, and cancer.
Then there’s the flavor – the cloves develop a soft, chewy texture and have a sweet taste (similar to prunes!).
